Getting Started

This app has two roles: a **Presenter** (the teleprompter screen) and a **Controller** (the remote control).

• As a Presenter: Click Start as Presenter. You'll see a 7-digit code. This is your teleprompter screen. Give this code to your controller.
• As a Controller: Click Start as Controller and enter the 7-digit code. You will now have full control over the presenter's screen.
• Auto-Join: You can also share the full URL (e.g., .../?session=ABC1234) with your controller to have them join automatically.

You have full control over the teleprompter's content and behavior.

Text Editor

Type or paste your script here. It updates the presenter's screen in real-time as you type.

Font Size

Use the slider or + / - buttons to change the text size on the presenter's screen.

View Control

• Align Left/Center: Changes the text alignment.
• Flip Horizontal/Vertical: Mirrors the text. This is essential for use with physical teleprompter glass.

Scroll Control

• Play/Pause: Starts or stops automatic scrolling. While playing, most other controls are disabled to prevent mistakes.
• Speed: Controls how fast the text scrolls when "Play" is active.
• Nudge Up/Down: Hold these buttons to manually scroll the text smoothly up or down.
• Reset Scroll: Jumps the text back to the top (or to the bottom, if Flip Vertical is active).
• Lock Scroll: Locks the presenter's screen. When locked, the presenter cannot accidentally scroll with their mouse, trackpad, or touch screen.
• Scroll Preview: When locked, a live text preview of the presenter's scroll position will appear.

Unlocking

If the controller "locks" the scroll, you can instantly override and unlock it at any time by:

• Scrolling your mouse wheel or trackpad.
• Moving your mouse pointer over the text.
• Pressing the Esc key.

This is a safety feature to ensure you are never "stuck" if you need to take control.

Status Display

The small status box in the top-left corner shows your session code and lock status. You can **click it to hide it** for a cleaner, distraction-free view.
